The best way to get to where you want to be is to first know where that actually is. Making conscious choices in your life is the practice of intention. Yoga can be practiced without intention, but the magic really happens when you practice conscious choices on the mat, and then bring your power of intention into every aspect of your life.
This workshop is focused on understanding first exactly why you’re doing what you’re doing in your physical yoga practice. The first step of intention setting is always awareness. So we’ll shed light on common practical aspects like -
Why do we inhale and do that half lift?
Why do we sometimes lift the leg up and back but then not when we step forward in a Sun Salutation B?
Why if it’s called a “wide-legged” forward fold do you not take your legs as wide as possible?
And we will really get into answering the most important questions - why are you practicing yoga and how can you most effectively get that benefit from your practice?
Workshop will consist of lecture, worksheets, conversation, and an open-level practice. Please feel encouraged to bring any questions about intention or the practice you may have.
